what changed at hypeddit

in june 2026 soundcloud paused its connection with hypeddit. hypeddit's own notice says the soundcloud steps on its gates are now optional: fans still see them, but they can download without doing them. email steps and the rest of hypeddit kept working, and hypeddit says it's talking with soundcloud about next steps.

so if your gates were there to grow your soundcloud, that part stopped being a sure thing.

how a beltergate gate works

  1. your fan taps download and connects soundcloud once.
  2. beltergate does the follow, repost and like on soundcloud, through their own account. you can also ask for a comment they write themselves, or their email.
  3. the file downloads. mp3 on the free plan, wav, flac, aiff or a zip of stems on pro.

rather not connect? fans can do the steps by hand and paste their profile link, and we check it on soundcloud. if soundcloud can't be reached for a moment, the fan still gets the file. no dead ends.

questions

is beltergate affected by the hypeddit change?
not as of 14 october 2026: our soundcloud connect is live, and fans who connect get the follow, repost and like done on soundcloud. we can't promise soundcloud will never change the rules for outside tools. if it ever does, your gates keep handing out the file, so no fan hits a dead end.
do my fans need a beltergate account?
no. they tap connect, approve on soundcloud and the file downloads. if they'd rather not connect, they can do the steps by hand and paste their soundcloud profile link instead.
what about spotify steps?
on pro you can add spotify (and instagram, youtube, tiktok and more) as a link step fans tap through. spotify's developer rules don't let a tool our size check spotify follows, so those steps aren't verified, and we won't pretend they are.
what does beltergate cost?
3 gates free, no card. pro is €3/month with a 7-day free trial: unlimited gates, wav, flac, aiff and zip files, link steps, analytics, and bulk-create from your soundcloud.
will my old hypeddit links keep working?
that's up to hypeddit, but their gates still open, just without the soundcloud step. once your soundcloud buy link points at a beltergate gate, the follow is part of the download again. how to set the buy link.
